Ordo Norro Notis
Being the first page I am publishing to this "online encyclopedia" of mine, which is shaping up to be a lot more like a blog in my mind, I want to muse for a minute on the drastic changes in Tredland's very own counterpart to the DIO, which is of course, Ordo Norro Notis. Most folks just drop the "Ordo" part, and I would say that "Norro Notis" rolls right off the tongue much better!
Roughly translating to "The Order of Those Who See in the Dark," Ordo Norro Notis was first created in 212 B.C.E. as a knighthood in service of King Arthur II. Their main function was gathering, storing, and protecting records. Over time, they saw an expansion of their funtion as more administrative duties were conferred onto them. Their eventual size in both membership and functionality proved to be a burden, leading to splintering, either for the sake of specialization or due to what we may today call "creative differences."
